Content & Rating Policy

Effective June 2026

1. Ratings are user opinions

Ratings posted on HisaabScore (Good payer, Bad payer, Avoid) are the personal opinions of GST-verified business users based on their own trade experience. They are not statements of fact, financial advice, or a credit rating issued by any RBI-regulated entity. HisaabScore acts as an intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. Who can rate

Only signed-up users whose GSTIN has been verified against the GST Network may post ratings. Self-ratings, ratings on behalf of a competitor without disclosure, and bulk/coordinated ratings are prohibited and will be removed.

3. Evidence requirement

Any "Bad payer" or "Avoid" rating must include either a written note describing the experience or supporting evidence (invoice, ledger, chat screenshot, cheque return memo). New accounts (under 24 hours old) cannot post "Avoid" ratings.

4. Right of reply and dispute

Every rated business can claim its profile and post a public reply to any rating. Rated businesses can also formally dispute a rating; disputed ratings are reviewed by our team within 7 working days. See the takedown process.

5. Prohibited content

Defamatory statements presented as fact, hate speech, threats, personal data of individuals (Aadhaar, PAN of private persons, home address), abusive language, sexually explicit content, and content that violates Indian law are prohibited and will be removed.

6. Admin-issued ratings

In rare cases (court-ordered disclosures, mediated settlements, restored ratings after successful appeal), HisaabScore may post a rating on behalf of a user. Such ratings are clearly labelled "Admin-issued" with the reason and are logged in our audit trail.

7. Hisaab Score™ is not a credit score

The Hisaab Trust Score (0–900) is a behavioural trust signal derived from peer ratings, dispute rate, vintage and rating volume. It is NOT a credit score under the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act, 2005 and is not issued by a credit information company. Lenders must conduct their own due diligence.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to users by email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
